Jackson Hewitt Tax Service®Income Tax Preparation Class – preparing you to prepare taxes!

The Jackson Hewitt® Basic Income Tax Course is a progressive income tax preparation class for the beginner student. No prior tax preparation experience is required to enroll. The course is now offered in three class formats: a traditional classroom, computerized classroom and an online course that is new this year and available at www.taxschool.com. Regardless of the class format you choose, you’ll work through sample problems while you learn how to complete tax forms and schedules.

After you complete the income tax preparation classes, you’ll have the skills necessary to prepare individual income tax returns, and could even earn extra money at tax time as a tax preparer!

The Basic Income Tax Course is offered in three segments:

Basic Income Tax 1 covers income tax basics such as IRS e-filing, credits, deductions and filing status,8, three-hour sessions = 24 hours of course work.

Basic Income Tax 2 teaches topics such as interest, dividends, capital gains, IRAs, etc. 8, three-hour sessions = 24 hours of course work.

Basic Income Tax 3  includes depreciation, Schedule E and basis of property. 7, three-hour sessions = 21 hours of course work, plus an open-book final exam.

Courses and fees for Jackson Hewitt’s Tax School classes vary by market. In most cases, tuition is free; you only pay for books and supplies.
